Inaugural 24 Hours of Adrenalin? Norba National Championships Goes Off Aug. 5-6 In Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 20, 2000) -- A new national championship added to the National Off-Road Bicycle Association (NORBA) 2000 schedule will keep riders up all night. NORBA and Trilife Sports International Inc., the leading promoter of 24-hour events and the 24 Hours of Adrenalin? Mountain Bike Team Relay Series, announced Friday the first 24 Hours of Adrenalin? NORBA National Championships will be held Aug. 5-6 at Winter Park Resort in Winter Park, Colo.

"Over the last few years, 24 hour races have risen in popularity among mountain bikers nationwide. With their successful 24 Hours of Adrenalin? series, Trilife Sports International approached NORBA about a partnership with this new mountain bike discipline," said NORBA's managing director Leslie Klein. "We are always looking for new ways to meet the needs of the mountain bike community, and by partnering with Trilife Sports International Inc., we can offer yet another way to earn the Stars and Stripes jersey."

Four new categories have been created for the first 24 Hours of Adrenalin? NORBA National Championships: six person junior, four person open, four person female open and four person master teams. For category and registration information, please contact Chad Grenier, communications director, Trilife Sports International Inc.

"We are proud to join forces with NORBA in creating the first 24 Hours of Adrenalin? NORBA National Championships. Executing professional events and building mountain biking as a whole has been a focus for Trilife Sports International for seven years and we are excited to take 24 hour mountain bike team relay events to the next level," expressed Stuart Dorland, president and founder of Trilife Sports International Inc.

Outside of the 24 Hours of Adrenalin? NORBA National Championships, 24 Hours of Adrenalin?, the premier 24-hour series in North America, offers 10 races/festivals across the United States and Canada in 2000. The 24 Hours of Adrenalin? is a team relay mountain bike event that consists of 2-10 person teams as well as a solo category. Each event starts at 12 p.m. on Saturday and runs straight for 24 hours until 12 p.m. Sunday. The goal is for each team to complete as many laps as possible within the 24 hour time period. Participants will get a taste of both day and night riding and the courses and categories are designed so that participants of all abilities, from beginner to pro, can participate.
